Head of House
Coach and lead a team of House Tutors entrusted with the care, wellbeing, academic progress and guidance of all students in the House.
One of Melbourne's leading Catholic schools in the northern suburbs is seeking a Head of House who is a highly motivated and innovative leader with excellent organisational skills. Suitably qualified, they must have a passion for Catholic Education and the safety and wellbeing of children.
The successful Head of House will have a key role in providing a pastoral focus for all students in their House along with leading and growing a team of House Tutors and colleagues. As a team you have primary responsibility for the care, wellbeing, academic progress and guidance of all students in the House.
With a sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary practices and policies related to student wellbeing, the successful applicant will effectively lead a team of Tutors promoting a healthy learning environment, best practice and excellence in student learning outcomes.
The successful Head of House will have excellent interpersonal skills including organisation and communication, with a proven ability to work effectively, independently and collaboratively, in a team. They will be committed to the promotion of restorative justice in dealings with students, staff and parents and have an understanding and commitment to Child Safety protocols, codes of conduct and to ensuring a Child-safe environment.
Supporting and participating in the faith life of the School, the successful Head of House will demonstrate perseverance, sensitivity, compassion, patience and a high level of discretion in working with complex and difficult situations, and when handling confidential and sensitive information.
Skills and experience:
- Sound knowledge & understanding of contemporary student wellbeing.
- Highly motivated, innovative leader with excellent organisational skills.
- High degree of accountability and efficiency, with ability to multi-task.
- Previous leadership experience within student wellbeing beneficial.
