Assistant Director, Curriculum Development

The Assistant Director, Curriculum Development is responsible for supporting the Director, Curriculum Development in: 

  • co-designing curriculum resources with classroom teachers, curriculum leaders and principals 
  • high quality systematic external and internal stakeholder engagement 
  • collaborating with academic partners and experts in the development of curriculum resources 
  • working with ACARA and other jurisdictions to contribute to and inform national curriculum decisions and innovations 
  • managing Curriculum Development’s involvement in key Department strategies, including School Improvement, International Education, Early Years Learning, Aboriginal Education, and Music strategies 
  • embedding science elaborations (with SA Aboriginal context) within the SA science curriculum resources 
  • collaborating with Aboriginal Elders and communities to share the science knowledge of Aboriginal nations in SA 
Essential Requirements 
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience 
  • Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables 
  • You must have, or be able to obtain, a Department for Human Services issued Working with Children Check 
Special Conditions
