Casual Relief Teacher

anzuk education is looking for exceptional educators for casual relief teaching in specialist schools across Casey Cardinia & Peninsula regions

anzuk Education are currently recruiting primary, secondary, and special education qualified or experienced educators who have a growth mindset & commitment to students' individual learning and well-being for casual relief teaching opportunities in specialist schools throughout the Peninsula region. 

About the Role

In this role, you will provide support teaching and learning for students enrolled in specialist schools which cater the educational and social needs of children aged between 5 and 18 who have an mild intellectual disability. You will work collaboratively as a team member sharing in implementation of programs and support of students' learning, well-being and physical care. Your role will vary day-to-day to reflect the diverse needs of the learners you are supporting. 

About the Schools

Specialist schools have a strong focus on personalised and individual learning that is tailored to support students' specific educational, social and emotional needs. They promote a safe, supportive and inclusive environment with learning programs and plans that are developed and delivered within Department of Training guidelines and reflect the Victorian Curriculum. Practical and hands-on learning programs are also offered including music, dance, physical education, home economics, art, digital story-telling, inter-school sport, kitchen & garden.

Application Requirements

  • Registration with Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration 
  • Current CV outlining recent experience in school settings 
  • Two mentor teacher (for graduates) or principal level references (for experienced teachers) 
  • Genuine interest in gaining experience in specialist schools 
There are a wide range of qualifications, experiences and skills that lend themselves to being successful in special education settings so anyone with a genuine interest in working in special education schools is encouraged to apply. Previous experience in an SEN setting is not mandatory. 

Please note: Victorian government schools have moved to remote and flexible learning and care at the commencement of Term 2 with schools open for students who cannot learn at home only. This has greatly impacted the currently availability for work in schools for casual relief teachers, however, we are recruiting with the understanding that each individual school's need for educators to facilitate and support different and will continue to change as the term progresses. Special schools will re-open from the 26th May onward. If you are successful with your application, we will keep you informed about any changes to the situation and be completely transparent on how this will impact availability of work.
