The Role
Working with the Principal, Head of Raymond House, Primary School Staff, students and parents the purpose of this role is to assist in the realisation of the strategic plan for wellbeing in Raymond House, supporting students in Years 2-6. In addition, the Deputy Head of Raymond House – Pastoral Care will oversee the daily organisation of Raymond House, coordinating staff, organising casual relief replacements and overseeing scheduled events.
Key Areas of Responibility
Within the context of the strategic plan, the Deputy Head of Raymond House – Pastoral Care will support staff, students and parents of the Lowther Hall community with pastoral matters. They will oversee and implement student Personal and Social development Plans and manage transition programs for Year 1 to Year 2 and Year 6 to Year 7. They will be responsible for the development of classroom and specialist wellbeing programs, ensuring appropriate wellbeing curriculum is delivered to students to support their pastoral care and also play a key role in the development of Raymond House camp programs.
The Deputy Head of Raymond House – Pastoral Care will coordinate daily staffing at Raymond House and manage the provision of Casual Relief Teachers. They will need outstanding organisation skills to ensure staff are replaced when on excursions, camps and special events. They will oversee and support the organisation of scheduled Raymond House events and assist the Head of Raymond House in timetabling and rostering.
The Deputy Head of Raymond House – Pastoral Care will be required to attend all scheduled meetings, supporting the co-curricular program, including camps, concerts and sporting events and also ensure their professional learning requirements are met annually. They will ensure that the diversity of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities and children who are vulnerable, are met.

Experience and Qualifications: - An understanding of the Lowther Hall context and girls’ education
- Knowledge of or enthusiasm for daily organisation
- An understanding of child safe standards
- A current and appropriate VIT registration
Commencing in Term 1, 2024 the Deputy Head of Raymond House – Pastoral Care is an ongoing leadership position. Deputy Head of Raymond House reports to the Head of Raymond House.
