About the school:
anzuk education is working with a secondary school in the Bedfordshire area. The school is an 11-19, oversubscribed school that, as they expand, is entering the next phase of its development. Due to their popularity, and as part of their £4.5 million building programme, they need to grow and strengthen their already high performing staff team who, by 2025, will be working with 1600 students. They are a diverse, multi-cultural school and multi-lingual community and celebrate both home languages and the learning of modern foreign languages.

About the role:
To that end, the school are looking to appoint an inspiring, enthusiastic and committed teacher of German to join their MFL department. Within the department they have the potential to fully support Early Careers Teachers beginning their teaching career.
 
In year 7, students are introduced to German and encouraged to develop skills that will provide grounding in languages. They learn to communicate in German by being given a range of tasks with a real purpose with the view of helping them to develop their language learning skills, language awareness, cultural awareness and the ability to work both with others and independently. In year 8 students carry on studying German more in depth. In addition, some students are given the opportunity to study French alongside German. At Key Stage 3, they offer a creative curriculum, as part of their unique connected curriculum.  In year 9, students are able to choose between French, German and Spanish to study for GCSE and the same at A Level.
 
The ability to teach German at KS3 is essential and additionally a second language of either French or Spanish across Key Stage 3 and 4, is desirable. There is the scope to offer a more experienced teacher A-level teaching in German, French or Spanish.
 
The successful candidate will be an excellent and approachable classroom practitioner, able to adapt learning in order to secure the best outcomes for all learners and someone who has strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making a difference to young peoples’ lives.
