How ANZUK Education can help:

We cover many regions in NZ: Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Christchurch, and regional areas in the North and South Island.

We support educators in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, and Special Education Needs.

We offer CRT (daily relief/supply), Ambassador (guaranteed relief work) contracts, fixed-term roles, and permanent contracts.

The opportunity to secure a permanent role prior to arrival in New Zealand is considerable.

Not wanting to commit so soon? That’s totally okay! Casual relief teaching gives you the opportunity to find the next step in your career. With full control over your availability, it’s flexible work that allows you to easily work and travel. If you’re looking for consistency in relief income, speak to us about our Ambassador, or guaranteed work, contracts.  You’ll be able to connect with many schools and centres, making it a great pathway for finding an ideal workplace!

Submit your CV today and our team will connect you with a recruitment consultant who specialises in your area.

What’s in it for you:

  • Our expert team will work with you step-by-step to support your move to New Zealand, for a position that fits your skills and experience.
  • Guided career support from a member of the ANZUK Education team.
  • Enviable work-life balance to enjoy beautiful New Zealand.

What you can expect to earn:

The New Zealand Government, through the Ministry of Education, sets the rates for state schools. The private sector is about 10% higher than this. Early Childhood is private in New Zealand, so rates can vary between centres.

Early Childhood: $27 – $32 p/hr (56k – 66k p/y)

Primary: $250 – $350 p/d (50k – 80k p/y)

Secondary: $260 – $430 p/d (55k – 90k p/y)

Teacher Registration:

The Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (TTMRA) allows teachers to gain equivalent professional recognition and be employed as teachers across New Zealand.

You can apply for registration and a practising certificate in New Zealand under the TTMRA if you hold current registration in one of the Australian states or territories recognised under the Act.

In Australia, teachers don’t hold a practising certificate in addition to registration. In New Zealand, you must hold registration and a current practising certificate to be lawfully employed in schools, kura, kindergartens and most teaching positions in early childhood settings. If your application is approved, you will be granted registration and a practising certificate.

ANZUK Education will support Australian teachers with applying for their teacher registration through the Teaching Council once they have secured a role.
