With the end of the year approaching, school communities will be looking at wellbeing programmes for 2022 and beyond. We’ve told you about Skodel, the 30 second wellbeing check-in tool for students, and now we want to let you know about Skodel’s great new feature: the Wellbeing Planner.

The Wellbeing Planner allows students to create their own goals and track their progress towards achieving them. By having students choose their own goals, they can decide what really matters to them and allows for a dynamic approach to wellbeing planning. This student-led approach also reduces pressure on teachers to create and deliver wellbeing content. Instead, teachers can access the strengths-based tips to support their students, which has also been developed in collaboration with leading psychologist, Andrew Fuller.

This feature of Skodel will be live by the end of the year, and is part of your regular Skodel subscription.

The wellbeing plan approach promotes student agency and engages young people directly with their own wellbeing. As students map out their plan, we can allocate our resources to areas and topics that we know they will be best received.

– Kevin Brennan, Assistant Head of Senior School, The Scots College (Australia)
