sustainability

ANZUK Education spills the tea on all things sustainability.

We’re committed to making our workplace more sustainable, and our sustainability team is working hard to develop initiatives that push us toward this goal.

ANZUK Initiatives ♻️

☕ By the end of 2022, ANZUK wants to be 100% rid of single-use coffee cups.

? We’re making a conscious effort to use environmentally friendly cleaning products in our offices.

? While some paperwork is required for teacher compliance, we’ve cut down on printing and use digital/paper-free options where possible.

? Our team enjoys a flexible work-from-home arrangement which reduces petrol consumption and traffic-related air pollution.

?️We’re removing individual office waste bins. Not only does this increase recycling and effective waste management, but it cuts down on cleaning costs. Having a central location for our rubbish means our team is standing more frequently, moving more often, and taking breaks – all positive contributors to wellbeing and productivity.

Our Partnership with Samson’s Site3 ?

Site3

Samson’s Site3 Building is home to our Auckland office.

They commit to environmentally sustainable buildings, with Site3 striving towards being a zero landfill building.

ANZUK has nominated an office Environment Champion to support Site3’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. Tenant waste creates a significant portion of this, so we’re working to educate ourselves and our cleaners on effective waste management processes.

Our waste is split into different streams: Mixed Recycling, Paper Recycling, Worm Farm Composting & Commercial Compost Collection, Cardboard Recycling, Soft Plastics, e-waste, and General Waste.

Site3 has a worm farm, and our soft plastics recycling is used to make fence posts and buckets. Regular assessment of the energy performance of the building is undertaken to help benchmark and put in place new processes and policies to reduce our impact on the environment.
