Teaching Assistant

The Role of a TA:
  • Assist students in various settings, including 1:1, small groups, in-class and within on-site SEND resource bases
  • Working habits can be based on your availability
  • Utilise methods to help students access lesson content or regulate behaviour according to EHCPs or other support plans
  • Promote a calm atmosphere around students
  • Manage challenging behaviours
The ideal Teaching Assistant will:
  • Be resilient and persistent, forming routines that promote strong learning habits
  • Be someone who has a can-do attitude, with a variety of methods ready to help engage and regulate learners
  • Have previous experience working with students with SEND
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Be helpful, with a drive to ensure every student can access lesson content
