Year Group Leader

An inclusive, 'Good' rated Primary School in South Bristol is seeking an experienced Year Group Leader to join their team for the 2023/24 academic year. The role features a partial teaching timetable in either KS1 or KS2 (depending on the successful applicant's skillset). This is a multi-form entry school and you'll have the opportunity to lead a team of staff, to promote high standards in teaching and learning.

The Role of the Year Group Leader:
  • Full-time, permanent role starting September 2023
  • Plan and deliver outstanding lessons, sharing best practice with your team
  • Lead on the delivery and assessment of lessons in a particular subject
  • Observe lessons and feedback to staff on ways to develop
  • Support in performance management of staff in your team as year group leader
  • Analyse data and assess the quality of learning and outcomes
  • Lead meetings and or training during inset days
The Ideal Year Group Leader Will:
  • Have recent experience teaching in KS1 or KS2
  • Ideally have previous Year Group leader or Phase Leader experience, however this is not essential
  • Possess a UK-recognised teaching qualification i.e PGCE or have gained QTS if qualified overseas
  • Be an effective Year Group leader, inspiring others to excel
  • Be organised and plan with key objectives in mind
  • Demonstrate a track record for ensuring the best outcomes for pupils of all abilities
