This International School in Bhutan is in the heart of Thimphu, marking the nation’s first international K-12 school. The purpose-built campus blends traditional Bhutanese craftsmanship with refined UK collegiate architecture, creating a learning environment that honours local heritage while embracing international excellence. The school offers a K-12 pathway for children aged 3 to 18, providing a Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based curriculum that incorporates the UK International Primary Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and International A-Levels.
The school is part of an International Education Group with 120 schools in over 11 countries. Together these schools provide high quality education to over 20,000 students globally. Over the last 26 years, the school group has been at the forefront of international education offering innovative pre-schools and K-12 schools across Asia.
Living and working in Bhutan is a unique experience shaped by its strong cultural traditions, close-knit communities, and focus on Gross National Happiness – a philosophy introduced by Bhutan that prioritises the overall wellbeing and happiness of its citizens over purely economic growth. Life is generally peaceful and closely connected to nature, with the Himalayas as a backdrop. Bhutan also offers the advantage of being well placed for travel to other parts of Asia during holidays.
