Assistant Principals – Secondary Schools

Location: Sharjah, UAE
Region: Middle East
Start Date: August 2026
Curriculum: Australian (Victoria)
Length of Contract: 2 years (renewable)

This school group is seeking experienced and committed Assistant Principals to join the Senior Leadership Teams and support the strategic leadership at secondary level across various school campuses in Sharjah, UAE, particularly at campuses on the East Coast.

These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to whole-school improvement, lead curriculum and/or wellbeing portfolios, and work closely with the Campus Principal and Group leadership to ensure high-quality educational outcomes for all students.

This is a leading international education provider in the UAE, educating students from over 80 nationalities. An Australian school group offering the Australian (Victorian) curriculum to 4000+ students, this is the largest provider of the Victorian F-10 curriculum outside Australia.

The Location

Sharjah is the cultural capital of the UAE, and these school sites are located on the east coast of this stunning emirate, in cities primed for rapid development. School staff often live in the nearby emirate of Fujairah, meaning you can enjoy coastal living only a short distance from the campuses. On the East Coast of the UAE, rugged mountains meet serene beaches, and mangrove forests thrive amidst the desert landscape.  People who live in this area benefit from the active lifestyle that the environment encourages, but the excitement of Dubai is only an hour and a half away.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to school leadership, policy development, and decision-making as a member of the Campus SLT
  • Lead curriculum and/or wellbeing initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic priorities

  • Support staff performance, professional learning, and development
  • Assist with staff recruitment in collaboration with the Head of School and Group Central Office
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community, demonstrating cultural sensitivity
  • Support compliance with UAE educational and operational requirements, including MOE and SPEA
  • Assist with the effective use of school resources, facilities, and services

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education (minimum)
  • Recognised teaching qualification and current registration (e.g. VIT, QTS) preferred
  • Regional Experience is an advantage (Middle East)

  • Proven leadership, communication, and people-management skills
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach to school improvement
  • Commitment to student well-being, professional growth, and educational excellence

  • Competitive employment package including tax-free salary
  • Housing options – furnished apartment or allowance (financial contribution)
  • Annual flight allowance (employee, spouse, and up to two children)
  • Health insurance (employee, spouse and up to two children)
