This school is a collaboration between one of the UK’s top co-educational school, and an educational group with schools around the globe that embraces and embeds best practice from a variety of world curricula.
 
The school comprises of a Pre-Prep (located in a purpose-built ‘Early Learning Village’) for children aged 18 months to 6 years a Prep School for children aged 6 to 11 years and Senior School. Senior pupils pursue IGCSEs and A-levels.
 
The College aims to provide an inspiring education that prepares pupils for life in our school and beyond. The school delivers its own curriculum, incorporating the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage and English National Curriculum, together with a rich co-curricular programme. 
 
The role
 
The school is seeking an inspiring, creative, and dedicated Teacher of Dance & Drama to join a vibrant and expanding school community from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and elevate the performing arts experience as the school evolves from a first‑class Prep School into one of the region’s leading all‑through schools, offering education from Pre‑Nursery to Year 13.
 
What you will be doing:

  • To teach according to the timetable for the current year, ensuring that lessons are planned, ordered and effective.
  • To be aware of the need to differentiate work and challenges according to the ability of the pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations of all and taking full account of any linguistic or other special needs.
  • To work as part of a team, in harmony with and for the furtherance of the College’s ethos and declared educational aims and priorities.
  • To be supportive of the department’s aims, agreed teaching styles, methods of assessment and other policies.
  • To set written assignments or other creative pieces of work that involve a finished product (prep) regularly and mark them promptly and in accordance with College and Departmental policies, ensuring that formative comments are always helpful and make helpful suggestions for further appropriate improvement in learning.
  • To provide parents with written reports on their children’s work and progress according to current College policy and to attend parent meetings.
  • To be responsible for the supervision, control and proper use of teaching rooms, materials and resources.
  • To attend InSET, Staff meetings, Key Stage briefings and other meetings that may be called from time to time, as required by the College’s Academic Leadership.
  • To report in a timely manner any concerns regarding Child Protection or bullying to the appropriate colleague. Be responsible for the pastoral care of the children in the class and ensuring good personal relationships are fostered between the children themselves and with the teacher.
  • To actively contribute to the Dance and Drama CCA programme, and at times the Music and Art CCA programme
  • Meet with parents as required and foster good professional relationships and communication with parents, this includes but not limited to attending parents’ evenings, school functions, Parent Association events.
  • Contribute to the Department’s devising and writing of new subject materials when required.
  • To take responsibility for one’s continuing professional development and, to this end, to participate in Development and Review procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision, and values.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with PGCE or equivalent.
  • Possess 2 to 6 years of teaching experience with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in the specified specialism area.
  • Proven aptitude and/or knowledge in LAMDA provision will be advantageous.
  • Experience of teaching Dance and Drama lessons to all age ranges.
  • Have knowledge of British National Curriculum requirements for Drama at the relevant Key Stages up to Year 6, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students’ work.
  • Proven record of teaching experience, prior experience in an International School will be an added advantage.
