This is a specialist international school in Singapore that provides an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students aged 5-18. The school is dedicated to empowering neurodiverse learners and students who may not thrive in traditional educational settings, recognising and celebrating their individual strengths, creativity and perspectives.

Role
 
The Director of Teaching & Learning leads the development of high-quality teaching and learning across the School. Reporting to the Principal, the role works closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure a clear, consistent and effective approach to curriculum implementation, instructional practice and professional learning.
The Director fosters a structured, inclusive and high-expectation learning environment that reflects the School’s Vision, Mission and Values. The role requires clear leadership, the ability to think strategically to support the School’s continued growth and development, and a visible presence to support staff and students.
A central responsibility of the role is to build staff capability through high-quality professional development, instructional coaching and ongoing support, ensuring that teachers are equipped to deliver effective and engaging learning experiences.
The Director works across the School to ensure curriculum frameworks are clearly understood, consistently implemented and adapted to meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs, the twice-exceptional (2e) learners and those who learn differently.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the school’s vision, values and strategic priorities.
  • Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning through visible leadership, curriculum oversight and consistent instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, subject leads and specialists to ensure curriculum programmes meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Ensure teaching approaches support students’ academic, social and emotional well-being within a safe and structured environment.
  • Support inclusive practices for students with diverse learning profiles, including neurodiverse and twice-exceptional learners.
  • Build strong communication and partnerships with parents, staff and external stakeholders to support student learning and engagement.
  • Lead staff meetings, professional learning and instructional coaching to strengthen teaching practice and curriculum delivery.
  • Develop staff capability through mentoring, feedback, classroom observation and targeted professional development.
  • Contribute to school improvement initiatives and quality assurance processes aligned with international accreditation standards.
  • Represent the school in professional development, community engagement and external partnership opportunities locally and regionally.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive education, ensuring teaching and learning approaches support students with diverse and high potential learning needs.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with staff, students and parents, fostering strong relationships and promoting a positive school culture.
  • Prioritises effectively, makes informed decisions and maintains focus on initiatives that improve teaching, learning and student outcomes.
  • Demonstrates professional integrity, self-awareness and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Contributes to wider school programmes and initiatives where required.

  • Professional learning programmes are effectively designed and delivered, resulting in improved teacher practice, increased staff confidence and measurable impact on teaching quality.
  • Instructional coaching leads to demonstrable improvements in teaching practice, with clear evidence of impact on student engagement and progress.
  • Staff demonstrate strong understanding and effective use of curriculum, instructional strategies and assessment practices to support student learning.
  • Systems for assessment, student profiling and progress tracking are used consistently to inform teaching, intervention and student outcomes.
  • Teaching and learning approaches support students with a range of needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs, the twice-exceptional (2e) learners and those who learn differently.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive: Teaching salaries are SGD $6,500 – $10,700 per month (inclusive of accommodation allowance)
