Secondary English Teacher required for a British International school in Brazil
The School
The school offers British International education to pupils in EYFS, Primary and Secondary School up to Year 13. The school is located in an exclusive district of Brasilia and enjoys a spacious, green, clean-air environment.
Since opening in 2016, the school has established itself as the school of choice for many expatriate and Brazilian parents seeking an international education in Brasilia. The core of our curriculum is British, with a distinct international flavour. The staff have experience of working both in the UK and abroad and are drawn from a range of countries and cultures.
The Role
The Secondary English Teacher reports to the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment in English across Key Stage 3 and 4 including IGCSE English Language and
English Literature. While the main duties and responsibilities are detailed in the job description for this position, all members of staff are expected to commit to supporting the mission of the school which is to provide world class
education.
The Person
We are seeking an outstanding practitioner who is able to achieve excellent outcomes and engage fully in both the personal and academic development of pupils on a day to day basis.
Essential Requirements
● Have UK or International teaching experience relevant to the position
● Hold an appropriate teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent
● Have experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 English, including IGCSE
● Be passionate about and possess strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
● Have a proven track record of raising standards of attainment
● Be an outstanding teacher
● Be enthusiastic and demonstrate a positive approach to all aspects of school life
● Consistently apply school policies
● Have a keen interest and engage fully in the personal development of pupils
● Be firmly committed to the extra curricular life of the school
● Be well organised and create a stimulating learning environment
● Be a reflective practitioner and continually strive to improve performance
● Display a commitment to curriculum innovation
● Be fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of children
