Requirements
 
The school is seeking an exceptional Head of Mathematics to commence in post in August 2026. This is an important post, leading a talented and experienced team of Mathematics specialists.

• Fully qualified with at least 5 years of relevant teaching experience, previous experience leading a department.
• The ability to teach to A-level would be an advantage, an interest in teaching AP would also be of interest., and/or international or British education systems
• Experience teaching the relevant age group and raising student achievement
• Confident using ICT and data to support learning outcomes
• Experience creating engaging learning environments and contributing to school life (including extracurriculars)
• Ideally experienced with EAL students
• Strong teaching skills that improve student achievement
• Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal abilities
• Able to manage change, work under pressure, and collaborate within teams
• Capable of inspiring students and staff, and managing student behaviour positively
• Knowledge of child development, positive discipline, and goal-setting for student success
• Skilled in engaging with students and families while prioritising child safety
• Acts as a role model with strong integrity, professionalism, and adherence to the school’s code of conduct
• Motivated, collaborative, and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to staff and student wellbeing
• Dedicated to safeguarding children and promoting a safe, supportive learning environment
• Culturally aware and open-minded, with a focus on developing ethical global citizens
