About the Role

• Based in the historic and culturally rich city of Xi’an, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead within a truly immersive Chinese context.
• You will lead a diverse team of local Chinese and expatriate teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration, openness, and belonging.
• As a visible and trusted figure within the school community, you will communicate confidently with staff, students, and parents, acting as a strong ambassador for the school.
• You will lead in the achievement of excellent academic results within a truly holistic environment.
• This role will be instrumental in opening Y10 in 2026, followed by the expansion to Y11 and Y12, and in stabilising and growing enrolments as the Secondary programme scales.

Who We’re Looking For

• A seasoned, proven senior school leader with experience in a comparable role
• Experienced in reputable international or bilingual schools, ideally within China, with experience of EAL provision.
• Candidates from outside China are welcome to apply but must demonstrate a high level of adaptability and cultural intelligence.
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross‑cultural environment and highly skilled in cross‑cultural leadership and team building
• Open‑minded, culturally aware, and eager to integrate into the Xi’an community
• An excellent communicator and relationship‑builder
• A strong understanding of international post‑16 pathways is essential with A‑level experience strongly preferred, as is experience with EPQ and project-based learning.
• The ability to lead through growth, change, and strategic development
• All candidates must be university educated with an Honours Degree and a recognised teaching qualification. A further degree in education; hold or be working toward the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) or International Leadership and Management Programme (ILMP) is desirable
