The school comprises of a Pre-Prep (located in a purpose-built ‘Early Learning Village’) for children aged 18 months to 6 years a Prep School for children aged 6 to 11 years and Senior School. Senior pupils pursue IGCSEs and A-levels.
The College aims to provide an inspiring education that prepares pupils for life in our school and beyond. The school delivers its own curriculum, incorporating the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage and English National Curriculum, together with a rich co-curricular programme.
The role The school is seeking an inspirational Head of Sixth Form (Assistant Head) to join our expanding school community from August 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the establishment and development of the Sixth Form as the school grows from a first-class Prep School into one of the region’s leading all-through schools, offering education from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.
What you will be doing:
- Lead all aspects of Sixth Form provision across the Senior School, ensuring the highest standards of academic guidance, pastoral care and personal development for pupils in Years 12 and 13.
- Oversee the establishment and growth of the Sixth Form from August 2026 (staring with Year 12 only in August 2026), ensuring a smooth transition for pupils progressing from Year 11 and supporting the development of a distinctive Sixth Form identity.
- Lead the design and delivery of an ambitious Sixth Form programme that integrates academic study, leadership opportunities, enrichment and university preparation, reflecting the ethos and values of Brighton College (Singapore).
- Oversee all aspects of academic progress monitoring, target setting, assessment and reporting for Sixth Form pupils, working closely with the Deputy Head Academic, Heads of Department and Tutors to ensure pupils reach their full potential.
- Work closely with the Head of Futures (University and Careers Guidance) to provide expert advice and individualised support for pupils applying to universities worldwide, including Oxbridge, Ivy League and other top global institutions, ensuring high-quality personal statements, references and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with the Head of Futures (University and Careers Guidance) to expand links with external organisations, universities and alumni networks, enhancing pupil opportunities for future study and employment.
- Develop and coordinate a comprehensive enrichment and life-skills programme that promotes intellectual curiosity, independence and readiness for life beyond school.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department to ensure curriculum breadth, academic rigour and alignment across all Sixth Form subjects.
- Manage a team of Sixth Form Tutors, providing training, guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality pastoral and academic support for all pupils.
- Lead on communication with parents regarding Sixth Form matters, ensuring they are well informed about academic progress, well-being and postschool planning.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in events, assemblies and co-curricular activities, serving as a visible and approachable leader within the community.
- Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision, and values.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree, with PGCE or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-level.
- Proven track record of middle leadership.
- International school experience (preferred).
- Superb writing and speaking abilities.
