High School Math Teacher

This international school seeks an enthusiastic and engaging High School Math Teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote student learning. This role will include integrated math in grades 9 and 10 and may include IB DP Math Applications and Interpretations or AP Statistics.
The applicant should be knowledgeable about high school student development, subject-area content, and best practices in an inquiry-based approach, differentiation, and assessing student learning. Additionally, the applicant should have experience with collaborative curriculum designs and be well-versed in unit development using backward planning. The applicant will collaborate with department team members, school leaders, and the curriculum director to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each student. Key Responsibilities
● Design, deliver, and assess an engaging and rigorous Math curriculum that
meets AERO Math standards for grades 9 and 10.
● Develop and implement lesson plans for various Math courses, ensuring
alignment with the general curriculum and fostering academic growth in a
supportive environment.
● Create a “thinking classroom” environment where students are encouraged to
engage deeply with mathematical concepts, collaborate with peers, and
develop innovative problem-solving strategies.
● Encourage students to develop analytical and quantitative skills through
problem-solving activities, projects, and real-world applications.
● Support students in becoming effective communicators by guiding them
through mathematical reasoning, presentations, and written explanations.
● Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring all learners
are engaged and supported according to their individual needs.
● Create an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives
and encourages students to appreciate and respect different viewpoints.
● Implement standards-based assessment and grading practices, providing clear, constructive feedback to students and parents to support academic
development.
● Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance learning, including
the use of digital tools for mathematical modeling, data analysis, and presentations.
● Actively participate in professional learning communities and collaborate with
colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
● Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with
educational trends and practices, particularly those related to general Math
education.
● Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement
and a passion for learning Mathematics.
● Work effectively in a multicultural environment, incorporating global
perspectives and ensuring that teaching practices are responsive to the diverse
backgrounds of students.
Requirements
-Current Secondary license or certification for teaching Math with a master’s
degree in a related field preferred
-Minimum of two years of experience as a High School Math teacher in an
accredited K-12 school
