The school comprises of a Pre-Prep (located in a purpose-built ‘Early Learning Village’) for children aged 18 months to 6 years a Prep School for children aged 6 to 11 years and Senior School. Senior pupils pursue IGCSEs and A-levels.
The College aims to provide an inspiring education that prepares pupils for life in our school and beyond. The school delivers its own curriculum, incorporating the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage and English National Curriculum, together with a rich co-curricular programme.
The Role The school is seeking an inspirational Teacher of Psychology (and English) to join the expanding Senior School community from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the school’s academic provision as the school grows from a first-class Prep School into one of the region’s leading all-through schools, offering education from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver high-quality Psychology and English lessons across the Senior School, ensuring all pupils are engaged, challenged and supported to make excellent progress.
- Take responsibility for the teaching, progress and attainment of timetabled pupils in Years 7 to 12 from August 2026, extending this responsibility to Year 13 as the school grows.
- Teach and support pupils preparing for A-level Psychology (starting with the new Year 12 cohort in August 2026).
- Teach and support pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 English.
- Provide academic guidance for Sixth Form pupils interested in pursuing Psychology, or related degrees in the humanities and social sciences, at leading universities.
- Contribute to a rich and varied co-curricular programme, offering opportunities for pupils to extend their learning through activities such as psychology clubs, essay and writing competitions, debating and enrichment projects.
- Support and help organise academic events, workshops and trips related to Psychology and wider humanities disciplines.
- Contribute to the assessment, tracking and reporting of pupil progress in both subjects, ensuring accurate, constructive and timely feedback is provided.
- Demonstrate the experience and ability to teach Psychology effectively at Key Stage 5, and English across Key Stages 3-4, adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils of all abilities.
- Act as an outstanding classroom practitioner, modelling excellent teaching, intellectual curiosity, empathy and high expectations in both subjects.
- Promote excellence, critical thinking and a love of language, communication and human understanding in all areas of the Psychology and English curriculum.
- Work closely with the Head of Humanities, Head of English, and the Heads of EAL and AEN, to develop tailored pathways for pupils requiring additional support.
- Contribute to the school’s pastoral system and act as a tutor for a Senior School year group.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Undertake any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision and values.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with PGCE or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering Psychology A-level and English at Key Stage 3 (essential).
- Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering English at Key Stage 4 (preferred).
- International school experience (preferred).
