In order for me to find the courage to leave my amazing life in London I needed a change upon my return to Melbourne. Whilst I absolutely loved my time teaching in London, I felt that my teaching experience was only in the UK education system and I wanted to use that knowledge when I returned to Australia.

When I made contact with anzuk and found out about the position of a UK specialist consultant, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. It was the chance for me to stay connected with my life in London while exploring a completely different aspect of the Education industry.

There are definitely a few points of difference between working in the classroom and with anzuk…

Culture

This is definitely something that anzuk pride themselves on and rightly so. I work with an amazing bunch of people and we really enjoy having a laugh and making work fun!

Relationships

One of my favourite parts about this job is really getting to know the teachers that I work with and helping them see out their dream of living abroad in the UK. As corny as that sounds, I genuinely am so excited for them when they are about to leave because I know they are going to have the time of their lives!

Support

You constantly have the full support of everyone at anzuk. We are all only human and can make mistakes, but whenever that has happened the whole team will rally behind you and help you out. At the end of the day we will have a laugh and move on.

Progression

anzuk is a company that has grown significantly in the past few years and with this comes exciting opportunities to grow and progress with the company.

Travel

Our team are extremely lucky because once a year each of us returns to London to work out of the UK office and take our new arrival teachers on a day out around London! This day is called the anzuk amazing race – if you are after more information please ask!

Whilst I do miss working in the classroom and hearing the little ones say things like “Miss I really like your hair!” when it is in an average pony-tale, I am thoroughly enjoying guiding teachers on their journey to England and working with anzuk.

If you would like to have a chat to me about teaching or teaching assistant work over in London, even if it’s just any enquiry for future reference, please don’t hesitate to contact me on ashleigh.g@anzuk.education or on (03) 9249 2444 (ext 238).
