The Role:
experienced EYFS/KS1 SEND TA to start work ASAP.
The role will involve working with a non verbal child/children with severe and complex needs (EYFS and KS1); managing physical communication (e.g. attempting to bite or push when feeling frustrated) and supporting with feeding and toileting (including regular nappy changing).
Ideally, this person will also come with experience of running communication and language interventions. We need someone really proactive and full of ideas!
Although the role is class-based, the candidate will need to understand that, often, they will be working on their own with a child, and in different spaces e.g. sensory room, outdoors.
The above criteria is ESSENTIAL so we are only looking for candidates who are passionate about working with SEND children of this age, and who have experience.
The School:
The school comprises of two sites, one on Canterbury Road and other on Rosecourt Road, both in Croydon. they serve a diverse community and have just under 1000 pupils on roll.
The School is a vibrant learning community, where they offer children a fully rounded education, which includes an exciting creative curriculum and a highly inclusive, supportive environment.
They educate children from Reception to Year 6, on 2 sites, working closely with their partner schools in the Inspire Partnership as well as schools in their wider local community.
Key Skills:
Experience is necessary, any suitable background in working with children, particularly those with special educational needs is advantageous. Key skills include a positive attitude, resilience and the ability to build rapport with students.
