Job Description for Special Educational Needs (SEN) Primary Teacher:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join one of our brilliant SEN schools in Hayes

About the Special Educational Needs School:

A small school with 8 classes that is quickly growing are looking for 3 teachers. It is a SEMH (social and emotional mental health) based school. There is opportunity for an immediate start for the right teacher.

Responsibilities of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess effective and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching resources and technologies to enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to parents and other stakeholders.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and implement appropriate intervention strategies when necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive school culture.

Requirements of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialised training or experience in special education.
  • Proven experience as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Primary Teacher working with students with special educational needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students with special needs.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
  • Experience with SEMH beneficial but not essential
