1:1 Teaching Assistant

This is a term-time only 1:1 Teaching Assistant role, working with a student in year 9 to start as soon as possible.

anzuk Education is proud to partner with a fantastic secondary school based near Gatwick to help recruit a caring teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a student in year 9. Ideally, they would like this person to start as soon as possible, but willing to wait for the right person. This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday).

The school:
The school provides a nurturing culture ensuring all children are given chances to excel and have more choices in their future. They are an all through school, educating children from the age of 4 to 16. Most recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The school prides themselves on being one big family. They have a 2 form primary and a 4 form secondary phase. 

Salary: £96.92 – £108.03 per day on Umbrella contract. (PAYE contract also available)

The role:

• Provide one-to-one support to a student with Special Education Needs.
• Encourage student to interact with peers and engage in activities led by the teacher.
• As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will assist in the development of appropriate resources and materials to support the learning needs of SEND student
• Monitor and help to record the progress and achievements of SEND student, reporting to the SENCo and parents where necessary
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students

The Ideal candidate will:

• Have demonstrated a passion and interest for working in education or a similar setting with children
• Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers
• Have a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
• Be a reflective and engaging educator with the drive to make a positive difference in children’s lives
• Be punctual and organised
• Be able to build rapport with students and staff easily, cultivating a community with strong core values
• Have experience working with or show a willingness to work with SEND students

Requirements:  

• An Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one through anzuk
• An up-to-date CV outlining employment covering the last 10 years
• Some experience of working with students in a voluntary or paid capacity is ideal but not necessary
• Some knowledge of supporting students who have a combination of learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs would be an advantage
