High Level Teaching Assistant – Croydon
We are looking for an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Croydon. This full time position is required to start from March 2024 until July 2024 at the earliest. The school would like an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant with Key Stage 1 and 2 experience.

The Role of a High Level Teaching Assistant:
- The position is for a High Level Teaching Assistant to support teachers across a range of year groups, some of which will be preparing students for their SATS in the summer
- You will work alongside the teacher and closely with the students to achieve their educational goals
- Working with small groups of children or teaching of whole classes, under the direction of the class teacher
- Within an agreed framework, teach whole classes of children. Plan and prepare lessons with teachers, participating in all stages of the planning cycle, including lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lesson plans. • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
- Have input in class planning, supervision and assessment of the children you are working with
- Reporting to the class teacher and SENDCo, creating a ‘joined up’ approach to the support of pupils with a variety of needs including learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties and medical needs
- Working hours from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Full time role starting asap – July 2024 at the earliest as permanent contract or extension is possible.
What do you need:
- Have an understanding of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Must have experience teaching children
- Hold an Enhanced Child workforce DBS with an update service subscription, or be willing to apply for one through anuzk
- Have a full updated CV, outlining employment covering the last two years – any gaps in employment must be accounted for
- References to cover the past two years
