Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant  
Salary: Between £102.60 – £114.00 
Location: Croydon, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark   
  
The Role: 
  
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you become the enchanting assistance in the realm of education. Your role involves closely collaborating with teachers, aiding in lesson planning and delivery, managing the classroom effectively, and contributing to the creation of a joyful and inclusive learning environment. 
  
  
The key responsibilities and requirements of an HLTA typically involve: 
 

  • Provide support for children’s learning, under the direction of class teachers. 
  • Provide supervision of children during non-teaching times (break and lunch periods). 
  • Undertake other tasks consistent with the role, to support the general running of the school. 
  • NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification and experience. 
  • Relevant training, e.g. literacy, maths, EAL, Makaton, dyslexia, ICT, CACHE, etc is also preferred. 

  
Requirements:  
 

  • Possess an Enhanced Child DBS with an update service subscription, or demonstrate the willingness to apply for one through anzuk. 
  • Possess an updated CV, outlining paid employment covering the last two years – any gaps in employment must be accounted for. 
  • Be based in London, or surrounding areas, and able to provide a valid police check from countries you have lived in (outside of the UK) within the last 5 years. 
  • Be able to show experience working with children in a coaching, tutoring, teaching or mentoring role – or a willingness to learn and undertake new challenges!
