The School

anzuk Education are supporting one of the leading independent schools in Canberra in their search for a Leader of Wellbeing. The school prides itself on its innovative and creative approach to curriculum and education and its strong sense of community and pastoral care of the students and their families and the staff of the school. 

The Position

Holding a 0.8FTE teaching role in the Middle School (Yr 5-8), this Wellbeing leadership role has a 0.2FTE leadership release. In this position, you will lead the development of culture and student care across a specific year level.

Acting as the first line of referral in student wellbeing matters, you will work closely with the wellbeing team to foster a culture of care and support students within your specific year and use data to inform and improve wellbeing practices across the year level.

Other responsibilities include:

• Oversee and co-ordinate the transition of students into and out of the year level
• Actively communicate with parents about the activities being undertaken in the year level through the Portal and through attendance at Middle School events
• Oversee the Camp/Outdoor Education program for their year level
• Assist teachers in the organisation of excursions/year level events/house events

This role presents as ideal for experienced upper Primary/Middle School/Secondary teachers keen to build a career in Wellbeing leadership.

Requirements

• Teaching qualifications and ability to gain accreditation with the TQI
• Interest and/or experience working in a wellbeing environment
• Evidence of developed teaching experience, ideally in a Middle School framework (Yr5-8)
