The long-awaited changes to the UK and Australian working holiday visas have been confirmed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese & we finally have good news to share!
As of the 31st of January 2024, Australian passport holders will:
Similarly, for UK passport holders who apply for Australia’s Working Holidays Visa, the new arrangements will see an increase in the eligible age range and removal of specified work requirement
*This actually means that any British passport holder arriving in Australia after the 1st July, 2023 (that has not held a 417 visa previously) will not need to consider completing any Specified Work to extend their stay, following the removal of this clause on 1st July, 2024

What about the New Zealand & UK Free Trade Agreement?
The NZ and UK government have confirmed that from the 29th of June 2023, the updates will come into place. Read more on the NZ/UK agreement here
